One dining table, four autumn centrepieces to fall for
From curiously shaped pumpkins to burnished berries, leafless branches and enchanting fall flowers, there’s no shortage of natural wonders to decorate your table with this season.
We’ve brought the outdoors in and created four different autumn centrepieces to create at home. No plastic spiders with faux webs here, just simple, yet sophisticated table decor that is warm and inviting. Our aim is to inspire you with flowers so that you can curate a cosy space for you and your guests.
All treat, no trick
The dining table is a natural meeting point for your family. Creating a festive centrepiece draws your family to it like kids to Halloween candy. Fall is the cosiest season for family dinners and hearty get-togethers.
We took a less-is-more approach, using two dried liquorice branches ( Glycyrrhiza glabra ) as a sweet focal point for our table setting. We added a bewitching blue tablecloth, not-yet-carved pumpkins, and scattered desiccated berries to our subdued Halloween tablescape.
Thankful for fall flowers
We made the most of fall colours and coloured glass — a key vase trend — to create an eclectic centrepiece as an ode to the bountiful season. The beauty of the fall palette is how all the colours work together. We mixed violet roses, burgundy amaranthus, orange physalis, blush-pink amaryllis, and topaz chrysanthemums to create a surprising combination. Tall stems, like red-berried rosehip, Japanese fantail willow, and pampas grass add texture and drama.
A bouquet this wild illuminates the space, so we paired it with more subtle extras: gourds and an olive-green tablecloth. This is sure to get the conversation started.
Pumpkin spice, everything nice
Sometimes you just want to go all out. Channelling a country aesthetic, we used natural, earthy materials like linen and ceramics to bring a sense of cosiness to the space. Pumpkins-a-plenty on this tablescape draw a clear connection to the harvest season.
Overflowing with seasonal stems, our set of three ceramic vases take centre stage. Each arrangement makes use of empty space, giving each flower room to bloom. Together, they create a dramatic floral effect. We mixed both fresh flowers, like hydrangea, physalis, and dahlia with dried stems and branches to reflect the changing leaves.
You had me at hydrangea
Often, the beauty of a single stem is all that's needed to make a statement. We chose to showcase a variegated hydrangea in its glorious powder-blue, mauve, and lilac as the floral centrepiece.
Achieve a feeling of luxury at home with choice elements and details. Brushed brass or burnished gold details glisten like treasure as table decoration and plush purple fabric adds a regal touch, making the petals shine like jewels.
Whether you’re throwing a dinner party or looking to spruce up your table for cosy family dinners, the possibilities of decorating your table with flowers are endless! Your home is the place to express yourself and there’s no better way to articulate your style than getting creative with the season's most beautiful flowers.
